About Oak & Acorn

Our Story

Hello! I’m Danielle, the founder of Oak and Acorn, a toy store inspired by my journey as a parent of three children with autism. My kids taught me the power of play in their development, and I saw firsthand how the right toys could make a world of difference. They inspired me to create a store that offers more than just playthings – I wanted to provide tools for learning, sensory exploration, and imaginative play.

Oak and Acorn is dedicated to offering high-quality wooden and sensory toys that nurture all children’s growth. Our store focuses on classic wooden toys, educational & fictional books, charming clothing, sensory toys, and all things whimsical that promote creativity, learning, and comfort for all children, especially those with special needs. We have everything from non-toxic play dough to fairy wings. 

I have carefully researched and selected a variety of curated toys ranging from non-toxic, eco-friendly, handmade, created in the U.S., 10 ingredients or less for bath products, crafted from recycled materials, not sold on Amazon, and more! We offer very unique toys. Almost every item we sell is from another small business including a few local Omaha businesses! We are always looking for more local business to collab with us.

Oak and Acorn is my way of sharing toys and experiences that spark joy, foster inclusivity, imagination, and growth for all little ones.
